LEADERSHIP AND CARE
“Snowflakes are one of life’s fragile things. But just look at what they can do when they stick together in teamwork!”
Perhaps you have seen this quote from Vesta M. Kelly. I so appreciate the team members, both staff and volunteers, that I’ve been given the privilege to work with at Glen Acres. Please don’t hesitate to contact any of us if you think we can be of assistance. (Pastor Bill)

Bill Horne
Senior Pastor
Bill Horne
Senior Pastor
Bill Horne came to Glen Acres as pastor in January of 1999. He and his wife Julie have two children – Rachelle and Andrew. He has received a Bachelor of Theology Degree from Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Divinity Degree from McMaster University in Hamilton. When not working Pastor Bill loves to read, walk, work on home projects, relax at the lake in Port Elgin and of course – cheer on his beloved Maple Leafs.
Bill is passionate about the need for North American Christians to become more self-giving and less self-focused. “We have been given so much in comparison to most of the world. With receipt of this gift comes responsibility to share and involve ourselves with the concerns of the world.”
Pastor Horne would welcome your visit to Glen Acres. If you are considering a church home in K-W he sincerely hopes to meet you and share with you the Glen Acres vision.

Matt Galbraith
Pastor of Discipleship
Matt Galbraith
Pastor of Discipleship
Matt Galbraith came to Glen Acres with his wife Olivia in August of 2013. Their son Arden was born in October 2015. Matt works primarily with children and youth here at the church. He attended Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, where he graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Theology Degree in the area of Cross-cultural Missions.
After graduation, Matt worked for the House of Friendship in Kitchener, first as Social Services Intern and then as the Volunteer Coordinator of the Emergency Food Hamper Program.
He has been challenged by these words from the apostle John:
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother and sister in need, but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:16-18 NIV)

David & Janene Dirks
Music Directors
David and Janene are the parents of six grown children, three of whom are married, and the grandparents of five delightful granddaughters. They have been serving together as Music Directors at Glen Acres since February, 2020. They have been active in church music and ministry for many years in various capacities. David has also served many years as a church choir director and has already enjoyed leading the seasonal choir at Glen Acres. David’s skills as a cellist and high school music teacher and Janene’s church music studies and vocal experience all combine to help them lead the teams of dedicated musicians each Sunday. They are passionate about equipping and encouraging God’s people to sing together, according to Colossians 3:16:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Krista McGinn
Pianist
My name is Krista Suzanne McGinn and I am a beloved daughter of God. My calling is to run on the path of playing piano for His Glory. I am thrilled to be part of the Glen Acres music ministry team as pianist and joining other servant hearts in leading the people to praise our beloved Trinity (Father, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit). Fall 2020 will be my 4th and senior year at Wilfrid Laurier University as a Piano Performance Major. The Bible verse Psalm 86:12 t is like a song to me; “I will give thanks to the Lord my God with all my heart and will glorify Thy name forever.” Three precious gifts from my Heavenly Daddy are my three children – Rebecca, Gordon and Cranmer. Bless you. Come on out for a service. We would love to see you.
